Job Details:  Education & Experience Requirements:   New Jersy State Registered Nurse license.  Certified by the American Nurses Cxredentialing Center in an appropriate area of specialty or by the Oncology Nursing Society as an OCN preferred.   Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred in an applicable area of study.  Three to five years of Oncology nursing experience required.  Supervisory experience preferred. Responsible for the functioning of an Oncology consultation program.  This role includes patient/family education, assistance with clinical examinations, coordination of consultation team meetings, and cancer support groups.  Responsible for active participation in the promotion of the consultation program and the ongoing management of its activities.  Responsible to coordinate patient records, reports and diagnostic information.  Works to establish and maintain relationships with community programs, physician practices and other agencies.  Participates in the accrual process for research protocols.

Position Summary:  The patient service representative, outpatient services (PSR) will be charged with providing high quality customer service to internal and external customers, including the students we serve, in keeping with the established mission and values of UHS. As the 'face' of UHS, the person will be tasked with providing service in a friendly and professional manner. The PSR will check in patients for appointments and urgent care services. The PSR will use service recovery techniques and principles when a customer is dissatisfied. This person will be responsible for responding to any other questions patients may ask, examples being questions regarding insurance, their bills and appointment rescheduling.

The PSR will perform cashiering and billing functions, prepare medical records for all appointments, be cross trained with all the duties of the front desk, under the direction of the Coordinator, release confidential information in accordance with state and federal laws and UHS policy.
